Discover the Cosmos at Kausani | Himalayan Astronomical Observatory

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable celestial experience. Nestled at 6,200 feet in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, Kausani offers crisp mountain air, sweeping Himalayan panoramas, and some of the dark-sky views in the Northern Hemisphere. With virtually zero light pollution, high altitude, and clear atmosphere throughout the year, the village turns into a window to the deep universe once the sun goes down.

The Experience

The Himalayan Observatory Experience

At the Kausani Astronomical Observatory, night-sky tours offer hands-on access to high-aperture catadioptric telescopes and specialized stargazing equipment. Guided by experienced astronomy experts, visitors go beyond simple star-watching to explore deep-space objects in detail.
